Living Gratefully - David Steindl-Rast

Here I was, looking for a TED Talk to watch on this lazy Sunday of mine, when I came across to this words:
Want to be Happy? Be Grateful.

“It is not happiness that makes us grateful. It’s gratefulness that make us happy.”
David Steindl-Rast

Couldn't have asked for better start of a new week.
Truly amazing & Inspiring.

Carnival Gift ♥

Hi all!
As some of you know, last weekend we had Holiday Carnival here in Brazil.
I do love Samba, but I’m not great on the dance part and neither my friends haha, so we enjoy this Holiday playing The Corrs and Irish Music. Also, because Carnival lasts for 4 days, so we can have plenty of time together, since we live in different parts of the Country.

As much as I would love to talk about “Corrnival” and my great friends, today I’m here to talk about something really awesome that happened to me during one of those days in Belo Horizonte.

We were playing in a public place, the environment there was awesome. Irish Music by our side and Samba by the other. Sometime on that afternoon a mom with her baby boy holding her hand approaches me and says: “He wants to see your musical instrument”. We smile at each other, I kneeled in front of him, showed him and told him to play and hold the instrument, as he did. While we were talking, playing, there was this group getting ready to perform, with this awesome and big percussion instruments called tambores. When they start to do the check sound, the little boy, scared, jumped in my neck, hugged me really tight and I hugged him back. The mom looked at me and whispered: “Thank you”.  After this, the place started to get crowded and I couldn’t say goodbye to them, but that hug was one of the best I had so far, and is really touching how kids trust in everyone and anyone.

Wish we could all be like them.

Happy Weekend!
